PrintWeek: how Quarterfold is producing 4,00,000 books a day

In a January 2022 feature by Ramu Ramanathan, PrintWeek examined how Quarterfold Printabilities reached an output of 4,00,000 books a day — within eight years of its 2014 founding, one of India’s youngest and most enterprising book presses.

The article details the bindery Quarterfold built to hit that scale: a Signa 16-station gatherer, inline and offline trimmers, a 12-clamp perfect binder and four additional binders.

It credits pandemic-era agility — a second factory and double-tower web machines added in five months, an eight-million-book order delivered in 26 days, and shipments of 150 containers in 45 to 50 days.

Both factories sit in Taloja MIDC near Mumbai, together spanning more than 1.2 lakh square feet, as the company extended its print-management work into Africa.
